Roseville High School Team Places Third in Science Bowl Competition

News from Roseville High School:
A team from Roseville High School placed third out of 32 teams at the recent Minnesota Regional Science Bowl.
Roseville students who competed in the event last Friday were William Thomas (11), Jingyang Dong (11), Joonil Oh (11), and Gabe Smith (12). Coach of the team was math teacher Jane Aguilar.

Of Roseville's strong showing, Aguilar said,"Not too shabby for our first ever appearance at the event."
The Science Bowl was held at Macalester College in St. Paul. The 32 teams were comprised of 216 students from 20 different schools across the state, according to contest organizers.

The first place team from St. Paul Central High School received a school trophy and individual medals; that team's members will get an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National Science Bowl. The second and third place teams, Team 1 from Stillwater Area High School and Roseville High School, received individual medals.
Sponsors supporting the Minnesota Regional Science Bowl included the U.S. Department of Energy, Ecolab, General Mills, Great River Energy, Pentair and Macalester College.
