Roseville Police Issue Crime Alert

Warning comes after burglary attempt.

The Roseville Police Department has issued a crime alert following an attempted burglary over the weekend in the city. 

In a statement, Roseville PD said it responded to a report of a burglary in process at 4 a.m. Saturday at the 400 block of Judith Avenue. 

“One resident woke up to a loud noise and saw a suspect in her porch. It appeared the homeowner may have scared off the suspect described as a dark-skinned male, race unknown, about six feet” tall, police said.  “Officers noted the suspect had cut the homeowner’s phone line and unscrewed a rear exterior light bulb.

“Although the crime may or may not be related, there have been thefts from garages and vehicles over the last few weeks,” police said.

Meanwhile, the Police Department said there are several steps that residents can take to protect their homes and property. Those include:

  • Calling 911 when they see suspicious activity.
  • Making sure your exterior doors are solid wood core or metal.
  • Checking your home security systems.
  • Installing deadbolt locks on doors.
  • Keeping valuables out of plain sight.
