Roseville's Big Garage Sale Today
More than 100 homes participating in third annual city-wide event.

Looking for kid toys, used furniture or some special knick knack?
Odds are pretty good you can find them with Roseville holding its city-wide garage sale today (Saturday).
One hundred ten homes are participating in the third annual Roseville garage sale, said Rick Schultz, city recreation supervisor. That’s up from the 85 homes that participated last year but down from the inaugural year when there were 130 homes on the garage sale tour, he said.

Garage sale hours vary per location, but the official start time is 8 a.m. and conclusion no later than 6 p.m. Visitors can check out locations and maps by visiting the Roseville city Web site.
Schultz said the idea for the city-wide garage sale was sparked by resident Mary (Nelson) Sherpa.

For her part, Sherpa said she approached Roseville officials three years ago about holding a community-wide garage sale because she had seen them in other cities like Woodbury and Falcon Heights.
Sherpa said the Roseville garage sale is a great way to attract people from outside the city to come and visit many homes within a short distance. And for residents holding garage sales, the event is a good way to recycle household goods and items they no longer want or need anymore, she said.
A self-professed garage sale enthusiast, Sherpa couldn’t wait for Saturday. She started her garage sale on Thursday.Â
