Twin Cities North Chamber Maintains Support for Arden Hills Stadium Site
Chamber expresses disappointment at no special session on Vikings' plan.

The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce represents more than 400 businesses in Arden Hills, Roseville and the surrounding area, advocating for a stronger economy.
The Chamber issued the following statement this week on the Minnesota Vikings stadium discussion in Arden Hills. The group's position is much in line with an opinion paper it isssued earlier this past summer.
"The Twin Cities North Chamber supports the construction a new multi-purpose stadium on the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills to be used by the Minnesota Vikings.Â

We continue to support our Ramsey County Commissioners in their efforts to advance the reuse of this site.Â
The Vikings have publically stated their preference for Arden Hills over Minneapolis as the new site for a stadium. The reuse of the TCAAP site for a multi-purpose stadium is the best use for the land and creates an extraordinary opportunity for economic development in the northern twin cities metropolitan area.

It is disappointing that Governor Dayton cancelled plans for a special session to address a new Vikings stadium, delaying resolution of the issue until the regular session of the legislature. Without proposing an alternative, the legislative leadership formally dismissed a County Sales tax as a funding source.
The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce continues to call on our elected representatives to work toward a responsible solution that protects the interests of taxpayers while stimulating economic development for the citizens and businesses in the north metro.
As the different funding sources are debated, the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce will be monitoring and advocating for the stadium to be built in Arden Hills."
