Wednesday Benefit Concert Tops News From Roseville Area Senior Program
Bus service openings, flu shots available.

Here is announcements and news from the Roseville Area Senior Program (RASP) provided by the School District 623 public relations office:
Benefit concert Wednesday
The North Suburban Chorus will perform Wednesday afternoon at the third annual benefit concert for the RASP bus transpotation service.

The concert will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Fairview Community Center Solarium, 1910 County Road B W., Roseville. Event sponsor is the North Suburban Senior Council Inc., an advisory council to RASP, a program of the Roseville Area Schools Community Education.
The benefit concert begins the year’s fundraiser for the RASP bus service. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is expected to provide $1,200 in matching funds for the freewill donations received at the concert. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

RASP offers bus transportation
RASP has openings for new bus riders who are age 60 and older or for those less than 60 years old that are certified disabled and who do not drive, have low income, live alone, and/or a minority. The bus is lift and wheel chair equipped.Â
Rides can be provided for grocery shopping, banking, local medical visits, volunteering and RASP activities. To schedule a ride, call (651) 604-3535 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. weekdays or email rasp@isd623.org. There is an intake process prior to scheduling a ride.Â
A suggested donation of $4 each way or $8 round trip is requested.
Flu shots and health reesource fall festival
This event will be from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Fairview Community Center. Flu shots are $27 and pneumonia hots are $57.
Flu shots are available for people ages 5 and older (if under age 18, parent/ guardian must be present). Please wear short sleeves and bring shot records, insurance and supplemental cards (Medical Assistance is not accepted).Â
Check or cash is accepted for non-insured. Make checks out to Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency.Â
Beside shots, there will be free health screenings including hearing, risk of falling assessment, health care directive workshop, glucose and blood pressure.
There will be 13 different resource displays including local law enforcement, chore, caregiving housing and adult enrichment. Event sposnors are RASP, Roseville Area Schools, Lyngblomsten and Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency
