With Week to Go, Four File for Roseville School Board
Gogins seeking re-election but Langston won't run again.

With one week to go, one incumbent and three challengers have filed seeking election to the Roseville District 623 School Board.Β
Kitty Gogins, past chair person of the board, has filed for re-election. At this point, she is joined by Mike Boguszewski, Frank Shaw and Mark Traynor.Β
But incumbent Mona Langston, current board chair person, has decided not to run again while Patch does not know what are the intentions ofΒ Bill Majerus, the third incumbent up for re-election.
Regarding her decision, Langston said, "Due to personal reasons, I will not be running for re-election for Roseville School Board.Β It was a very difficult decision as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the board.
Langston continued, "There is still some very critical work to be done;Β we have laid a lot of the groundwork together. Β I trust those who remain on the board and the executive staff will take the district into the future in terms of equity, closing the achievement gap and making available new technology for all of our learners.
Langston concluded, "Β I hope to continue to volunteer some of my time on committees as needed."
The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13. Β The School Board general election is scheduled for Nov. 5 this year.Β
