Woman Pleads Guilty to Robbery of Roseville Bank

Sentencing to be scheduled at a later date.

A 50-year-old woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to the Sept. 14, 2010 robbery of Guaranty Bank in Roseville, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Minneapolis. 

Michelle Lynn Matthew, no known address, pleaded guilty to one count of bank robber, according to a news statement from the Attorney's Office.

Matthew, who was indicted on May 17, 2011, entered her plea before U.S. District Court Judge John R. Tunheim.

In its press statement, the Attorney's Office said: "In her plea agreement, Matthew admitted stealing approximately $3,313 from the bank, which is located in a Rainbow Foods grocery store on Larpenteur Avenue West.

"For her crime, Matthew faces a potential maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Tunheim will determine her sentence at a future hearing yet to be scheduled."

The case is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Roseville Police Department, and the St. Paul Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lola Velazquez-Aguilu is the prosecutor in the case.
