Arrest, Charges Expected In 2024 Lutsen Resort Lodge Fire

State public safety officials will hold a 3 p.m. news conference in St. Paul to reveal new developments in the 2024 blaze.

ST. PAUL, MN — Minnesota authorities will announce an arrest and criminal charges Thursday afternoon in the investigation of the 2024 fire that destroyed the main lodge at Lutsen Resort, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the State Fire Marshal’s Office will hold a 3 p.m. news conference in St. Paul, joined by the Cook County Attorney’s Office and partner agencies.

Officials say they will provide updates on the investigation into the Feb. 6, 2024 fire, which consumed the historic resort building on Lake Superior’s North Shore.
