State Flags Dozens Of MN Cannabis Businesses For Tax Reasons
State officials flagged more than 70 businesses for unpaid cannabis-related taxes this month.
ST. PAUL, MN — More than 70 businesses across Minnesota have been flagged for cannabis tax delinquency and will face restrictions starting Thursday, July 18, according to the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
Under Minnesota law, beginning the third business day after a delinquency list is posted, businesses on that list cannot purchase retail taxable cannabis products for resale. However, they are not barred from continuing operations or selling cannabis products they already possess.
The latest list, current as of July 14, includes shops, restaurants, liquor stores, and dispensaries from across the state. Notable areas with multiple delinquencies include Minneapolis, St. Paul, Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, and Rochester.

If businesses do not resolve their delinquent tax status, they remain restricted from buying additional cannabis products for resale. The Department of Revenue updates the list regularly as part of its enforcement of Minnesota’s cannabis tax laws.
The full delinquency report is six pages long and includes legal names, business names, and addresses for each listed entity.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this article misstated the enforcement action taken by the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Businesses on the tax delinquency list are not barred from selling cannabis products already in their possession; they are restricted from purchasing additional cannabis products for resale.
