Fall Weather Will Greet Crowds At Minnesota State Fair Opening Weekend

ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota State Fair is set to open with a shift in the weather that feels more like fall than summer.

Highs will stay near 80 through Thursday, but a cool front arrives by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday’s high will be close to 70, and Sunday may only reach the upper 60s. Overnight lows will fall into the 40s and 50s.

The good news for fairgoers: skies will be mostly sunny after Friday, making for comfortable days to enjoy the fairgrounds.

Sweatshirts and jackets may be needed for the cooler evenings, but the overall forecast points to pleasant, fall-like conditions for the opening weekend.

The 2025 Minnesota State Fair will run from Aug. 21 through Labor Day, Sept.  1.
