St. Paul House Explosion Injures 1; Home Leveled
One person had to be rescued from a St. Paul home after an explosion Friday morning.

ST. PAUL, MN — One person was injured and at least eight others displaced following a home explosion in St. Paul Friday morning, according to officials and news reports.
The St. Paul Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched to the explosion in the 600 block of Payne Avenue around 8:35 a.m. Firefighters said one person had to be rescued from the structure and taken to the hospital.
The home was leveled by the explosion. A surveillance video from a nearby deli captured the dramatic explosion on tape.

According to The Star Tribune, eight people were displaced as a result of the blast though it was not clear whether they lived in the house that exploded or in surrounding homes. The paper reported that gas and electricity has been turned off for the entire block and five structures have been condemned by the city.
Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were on scene investigation.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
