Joe Mauer, St. Paul Native And MN Twins Great, Elected To Hall Of Fame
Joe Mauer, who played his entire career with the Minnesota Twins, was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot.

ST. PAUL, MN — St. Paul native and Minnesota Twins great Joe Mauer has been elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot he appeared on.
Mauer, who graduated from Cretin Derham Hall High School and was drafted first overall by the Twins in 2001, won over 76.1 percent of the voting members of the Baseball Writers of Association of America. At least 75 percent is necessary to be indicted into baseball's highest honor.
Mauer's accolades include MVP, six-time All-Star, three-time batting champion, and three-time Gold Glove winner. He played his entire career in Minnesota.
