Inside the apartment, officers said they found a rifle magazine on the kitchen table, another on a bedroom table, and an AR-15 rifle leaning against the living room couch with a live round next to it.

Schille's body was found sitting on the couch in the back bedroom with a television remote in his hand and a gunshot wound on the left side of his face.

According to the criminal complaint, Audie told police he had lived with Schille for the past one to two years at the apartment in South St. Paul. He said he helped care for Schille and cleaned the apartment.

Audie admitted to shooting Schille with Schille’s own AR-15 rifle, police said. After the shooting, he said he unloaded the magazine and placed it on a table, then removed a round from the chamber and set it near the couch, the criminal complaint states.

He then called 911 and reported what he had done, according to police.
