Many St. Paul Festivals Have Been Cancelled This Year: Report
Many festival organizers are citing raising security prices by the city's police department as well as other new regulations, reports said.
ST. PAUL, MN — Many of St. Paul's festivals are cancelled or are in different cities this year, according to a report by The Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Many festival organizers are citing raising security prices by the city's police department as well as other new regulations for the moving and cancellations, the publication reported.
For the annual Ramsey County Fair Parade, security costs went up by $10,000 since the last parade in 2019, and officials are now requiring concrete barriers for the event, the report said. Organizers of the parade decided to move it to Maplewood, according to the report.

Festivals that are cancelled this year include Cinco de Mayo on the West Side, Highland Fest, Rice Street Parade, St. Patrick's Day LuckyPalooza block party and Little Mekong Night Market, the publication reported.
