The Minnesota Department of Revenue announced its plans to send out 2.4 million one-time tax rebate payments.
ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota Department of Revenue Monday announced how it plans to send 2.4 million one-time tax rebate payments to residents across the state.
The rebates, perhaps better known as "Walz Checks," were part of the budget deal passed during the 2023 legislative session and signed into law by Gov. Tim Walz.
"This rebate will help millions of Minnesotans pay for everyday expenses such as groceries, school supplies, rent, or childcare," said Department of Revenue Commissioner Paul Marquart in a news release.

However, taxpayers who are eligible for the rebate and need to update their address or bank information need to visit the online portal to update that information before 5 p.m. on July 28.
