The longtime MPR News host will take a leave of absence to focus on treatment and recovery.
ST. PAUL, MN — Angela Davis, longtime host of MPR News with Angela Davis, has been diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, Minnesota Public Radio announced Monday.
Davis, a respected voice in Minnesota journalism and one of MPR’s most recognizable hosts, will take a leave of absence to focus on her health.
“Angela is deeply grateful for the support of her colleagues and listeners, and she asks for privacy during this time,” the station said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming her back when she is ready.”

Davis joined MPR News in 2018 and has hosted hundreds of interviews covering Minnesota life, politics, and culture. Before joining public radio, she worked as a television journalist for KSTP-TV and WCCO-TV in the Twin Cities.
