MSP Is Most On-Time Airport In The World: Ranking

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has the highest rate of on-time departures in the world, according to aviation analytics tracker Cirium.

MSP ranked No. 1 on Cirium’s 2023 listing of the world’s most on-time airports and airlines. Cirium defines "on time" as a flight arriving or departing within 15 minutes of its scheduled time.

At MSP, 84.44 percent of the airport’s 289,817 flights departed on time in 2023, according to Cirium.

MSP was followed in Cirium’s rankings by the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, India, with 84.42 percent and the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, India, with 84.08 percent. The only other U.S. airport to make the top five was Salt Lake City International Airport, which came in fifth with 83.99 percent.

Delta Air Lines received the Cirium Platinum Award and was ranked the leading North American airline for on-time arrivals, with 84.72 percent of its more than 1.63 million flights coming in on time during 2023. MSP is Atlanta-based Delta’s second-largest hub.
