‘OMG Midwest’ Closing All MN Factories, Cutting Nearly 300 Jobs

The company said 297 workers will lose their jobs when the closures take effect on Dec. 19, 2025.

MINNESOTA — OMG Midwest, Inc., which does business as Minnesota Paving & Materials, will permanently close all of its Minnesota facilities and lay off nearly 300 employees statewide, according to a WARN notice filed with the state.

The company stated that 297 workers will lose their jobs when the closures take effect on Dec. 19, 2025. All Minnesota Paving & Materials sites are scheduled to close on that date.

According to the filing, 206 employees are represented by Minnesota Operators Local 49, Minnesota Laborers Local 563, and Teamsters Local 120. The company said no bumping rights exist.

Positions affected include QC technicians, equipment operators, truck drivers, accountants, plant superintendents, forepersons, mechanics, safety managers, and other roles across administrative, construction, and operations teams.

The State Rapid Response Team is coordinating assistance for impacted workers. John Mohs, a senior specialist with the team, is leading the assessment.
