ST. PAUL, MN — Nine athletes from Minnesota — gold medal gymnast Sunisa Lee — have qualified for the Paris Summer Olympic Games as Team USA continues to take shape.

In 2021, Lee stepped up for Team USA in Tokyo after Simone Biles withdrew from the competition. Biles took herself out of the event in order to focus on her mental health.

Looking ahead, more than 10,500 athletes from around the world will compete in the Paris Summer Olympic Games, officially the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, between the opening ceremony on July 26 and the closing ceremony on Aug 11.
