West St. Paul Grocery Store Reportedly Closing After Posting Signs Saying It Would Stay Open

Employees learned of the shutdown on Tuesday, according to a report.

ST. PAUL, MN — The Oxendale’s grocery store in West St. Paul is preparing to close later this month, according to a report published Tuesday by the West St. Paul Reader.

The outlet reported that employees were informed of the shutdown and were not offered the option to transfer to other Oxendale locations.

The store is expected to close by Dec. 23 or sooner, and shelves were already emptying with some stock being moved to other stores.

Patch attempted to reach Oxendale’s on Wednesday for confirmation, but no comment was provided.

Oxendale’s struggled over the summer during the Smith Avenue and Dodd Road construction project. After the construction work finished, the store posted signs assuring customers it was not closing.
