Woman, 26, Dies After Speeding Into Concrete Wall: MN State Patrol

ST. PAUL, MN — A 26-year-old woman died and two others were hospitalized after a high-speed crash in St. Paul early Sunday morning that happened after a brief police chase.

Just before 2 a.m., a trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol watched as a vehicle sped down eastbound Interstate 94 at Hamline Street.

The trooper activated their emergency lights and sirens to stop the vehicle near eastbound I-94 and Dale Street. Still, authorities said the driver sped away and exited onto Marion Street.

The trooper ended the pursuit, but the vehicle continued to speed, ran straight through the intersection, and crashed into a concrete wall, authorities said.

The driver — identified as Ahayna Elizabeth Sanders — died at the scene. Two passengers — a 26-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man — were hospitalized.
