1. According to the National Weather Service, the forecast for Aug. 4 calls for a mostly sunny day, with a high near 85 degrees. Tonight should be cloudy, with a low around 67 degrees. Calm winds all day. 

2. Today's Shakopee Derby Days lineup includes Taste of Shakopee from 5-9 p.m. at Huber Park. Check out the new Silent Auction and performances by Shakopee's own Loosely Wound Bluegrass Band at 5:45 p.m and the Urban Dance Squad at 8:30 p.m.

3. According to the Minnesota Historical Society, on this day in 1916, Amos Owen was born on the Sisseton Reservation, South Dakota. He would move to the Prairie Island Indian Reservation at age 16 and later become a prominent spiritual leader, tribal chairman, and pipe carrier of the Dakota. He died June 4, 1990.
