5 Things To Know About Shakopee Today

1. Today's Shakopee Derby Days lineup includes the Market Fair where artists, antique dealers, crafters and novelty sellers can ply their trade for the masses from 3-7 p.m. at Huber Park. The Market Fair also runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
2. Not to be outdone by Market Fair or Cash Bingo (4-10 p.m.), Friday also boasts of a bevy of musical acts including: Machine 22 at 6 p.m.; The Beloved Kings at 7:30 p.m.; and In the Fields at 9 p.m. Â

3. According to the Minnesota Historical Society, on this day in 1851, the Mdewakanton and Wahpekute bands of Dakota sold most of their lands in the southern part of the state when the Treaty of Mendota is signed. Gov. Alexander Ramsey and Luke Lea represent the United States, and Little Crow, Medicine Bottle, Good Thunder, Six, and Wabasha sign for the Dakota.Â
4. Shenandoah Drive between 4th Avenue and County Highway 101 is scheduled to reopen Saturday morning. The road was closed from Aug. 1-5 for railroad crossing replacement and street repair.

5. Looking for laughs? Comedian Tommy Thompson will be at the MinneHaHa Comedy Club inside Fri. at 8:30 p.m. and Sat. at 8 p.m. Tickets to the show will run you $13 and you can book online.
BONUS #6 After losing last night in Jordan, the Shakopee Indians play the decisive game of the best-of-5 series tonight at Joe Schleper Stadium at 7:30 p.m.Â
