Arctic Explorer, Clean Energy Advocate to Speak at Grand Opening of Environmental Learning Center
Polar explorer Will Steger and J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director at Fresh Energy, will be the special guests at a public forum on Wednesday night.

Shakopee Public Schools has a a special treat in store for the public. This Wednesday, the district will celebrate the grand opening of the Shakopee Environmental Learning Center with a talk hosted by two experts on climate change and clean energy.
The public is invited to this free forum, entitled "Clean Energy, Climate and Health." The forum will feature J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director at Fresh Energy, and Will Steger, an educator, environmentalist and polar explorer who has been an "eyewitness to climate change." Steger has led polar expeditions to both the Arctic and Antarctic for 45 years.
The event will begin with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. on the same day, Shakopee High School.
