A conservative estimate puts the total money raised at more than $1,500.

Shakopee resident , who's best known as a Project Runway contestant, had a trunk show as part of a larger event May 9 in the name of stomping out breast cancer.

He joined with owner Tania Richter and others in an event to benefit the Komen Race for the Cure. The event also featured a raffle, silent auction and a fashion show – with clothes from Karizma – at . Some of the models were breast cancer survivors.

Richter told Patch Friday she was proud to be part of an event that honored such selfless women.

Organizer Pat Sheveland said well over $1,500 was raised during the event through a silent auction, proceeds from "Toast to the Ta Ta" pink drink special and a book sale for a Tim Nordberg novel. They also raised more through a $2 admission fee.

"Our Race for the Cure "Team Headlights" is so appreciative of Christopher, Karisma, Turtles, The Pearl Salon, Shawn Diddy, Tabby, and Jeff Simon - for donating their time, talents and venues for our team's first fundraising event." she said. "Watching our models who have survived cancer get up on stage and truly see the joy in their faces absolutely made this event the most worthwhile!"

Credit for the event's success really goes to the attendees, Richter added. "We can plan and plan but without them, the event wouldn't be a success so I thank everyone greatly and I can't wait to do it again!"

Christopher Straub tweeted about the event Friday morning:
