Scott County Commissioner Has Challenger, Filing Continues Through June 5
Debbie Barber has filed to run against Scott County Commissioner Dave Menden.
Shakopee resident Debbie Barber and announced her campaign for Scott County Commissioner Thursday on Twitter.
"It's official! I filed to run for Scott County Commissioner for District 3 in Shakopee. Love my community & excited for my new adventure!," Barber wrote.
Dave Menden has held the office for one term and has filed for reelection, as have all the other incumbants on the Scott County Board. No one else has stepped up to challenge the other incumbants. Filing continues through June 5.

Barber serves on the Scott County Human Services Resource Council, which develops and makes recommendations to the County Board on human services programs, needs, priorities, goals and objectives.
Barber has an undergraduate degree in Biomechanics and a Masters Degree in Engineering Mechanics, according to her biography on the website for Canopy Medical, LLC, where she is listed as a senior partner. It says she has over 14 years of experience in the medical device industry.
