3. On this date in 1974, Minnesota's Jeannette Piccard, who had once piloted hydrogen balloons into the stratosphere, was one of the first women to be ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church, according to the Minnesota Historical Society.   

4. City of Shakopee crews are closing Shenandoah Drive Between 4th Ave. and County Hwy 101 to all traffic from 7 a.m. Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 5 for railroad crossing replacement and street repair. 

5. 's MinneHaHa Comedy Club is hosting comedian Jason Schommer at 8:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $13.
