Helicopter Work Over Hwy. 169 Begins Monday

Traffic may stop at times near Blakely Township where the work is occurring.

Drivers on highway 169 near County Road 53 in Blakely Township should expect intermittent delays starting Aug. 12. Traffic may also temporarily stop at times while CapX2020 crews use a helicopter to work over the highway. 

Troopers from the Minnesota State Patrol will be in the work zone to assist traffic. Drivers should keep their eyes on the road and keep traveling through the work zone unless law enforcement directs otherwise. 

Work is scheduled to occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. Work is weather permitting.

The Brookings County-Hampton project is a 250-mile 345 kV transmission line between the Brookings County Substation in South Dakota, and the Hampton Substation in Dakota County, Minnesota.  The first segment, between Renville County and Scott County, is expected to be energized in late 2013.
