The Hopkins Raspberry Festival is a nine-day celebration that culminates this weekend with numerous events in downtown Hopkins. Families can watch the MN Disc Dog Frisbee Competition, take part in family activities or watch the parade. for a full guide to the festivities.
Saturday, July 14
This Saturday, the second-annual Midwest Tomato Fest takes place in downtown Minneapolis, and promises to be bigger and messier than ever. Event organizers are expecting up to 6,000 fruit-wielding fighters to attend the festivities, which kick off at noon. The food and music choices through the afternoon will have a Minnesotan feel with local favorites including Absolute Gruv, the Blend, and the Tim Sigler Band taking the stage, and food trucks from Barrio, World Street Kitchen, and Nate Dogs. The event will, of course, culminate in the tomato fight itself, which is composed of only spoiled and inedible tomatoes.

Minnetonka teens, Girl Scouts, youth organizations, community volunteers, and business are raising money to help support the summer camp food program at Kwanzaa Community Church/Freedom School of North Minneapolis.
