Lace Up Those Skates – Shakopee Outdoor Rinks Now Open

Weather permitting, rinks will remain open through Feb. 20.

Unseasonably warm weather delayed the opening of Shakopee outdoor rinks and warming houses until this week. City staff has been flooding the rinks and they will open to the public Jan. 20. Weather permitting, the rinks will remain open through Feb. 20, according to city officials.

Outdoor rinks and warming houses are located at Lions Park (1103 Adams Street), Scenic Heights Park (1195 Ruby Lane), Westminster Park (801 Valley View Drive East) and Hiawatha Park (625 7th Avenue East). Warming house hours are Monday through Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. The warming houses will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 23 and Feb. 20.

Little Tyke Skating
Little Tyke skating for kids ages 6 and under and their parents is available on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. from now through May 17 at the Shakopee Ice Arena. Admission and skate rental are free for this offering.
