Maria Hauger Takes State Title in Two Track Events
Hauger now has six state titles in running events.
Junior won the state title in the 3,200 meter run Friday at Hamline University in St. Paul. Her time was just over 10 minutes, 28 seconds.
On Saturday, Hauger won the 1,600 meter run. On the home stretch, she was in third and out kicked girls from Alexandria and Prior Lake for the title, according to Shakopee Sabers Activities Director John Janke, who has been tweeting from the meet. It's her sixth state title, Janke said.
Janke also said Connor Neal finished fourth in the state in the 300 hurdle event.

Alex Denis threw a 47.2 in the state shot put competition, which did not qualify him for the finals. ran a great 800 race, Janke tweeted, but she did not qualify for finals.
