UPDATED: Arsonist to Blame for Multi-Level Oxford Road House Fire

Shakopee Police are investigating the arson.

Updated, April 18, 11:45 a.m.: An arsonist was responsible for the multi-level house fire that consumed an Oxford Road home on April 3, the Minnesota State Fire Marshall has announced.

The Shakopee Police Department is investigating the incident.

Original story, April 4: A multi-level house fire was reported around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Shakopee's Southbridge area, the Shakopee Valley News is reporting.

The fire seems to have spread to all levels of the Oxford Road home, according to the paper, which noted that houses in the neighborhood usually have three levels including the basement.

Multiple fire departments were called to the scene and assistance has been requested from Prior Lake, Chaska, Eden Prairie and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.

As of 11:15 a.m., smoke was still coming from the home, according to radio chatter.
