After coming under new ownership,  in Hopkins is all set to celebrate a grand reopening. On Saturday, the downtown coffee shop, which has been in operation since 1996, will have free coffee tastings, live music, balloons and specials. You could also caffeinate with the Mayor – Gene Maxwell – as he plans to stop by.

Sunday, June 17, from noon-5 p.m., at The Landing-Minnesota River Heritage Park, Shakopee. Treat your Pa and Ma to a day of old-fashioned frontier fun. Enjoy an 1860s base ball game. Challenge Pa to a game of checkers in the store or visit the dressmaker with Ma. Dance to live music with Pa and Ma. Ride on a trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses. The gift shop is open and food is available for purchase. Cost is $5 for ages 18-64 and $3 for ages 2-17 and seniors. Children under 2 are free. With one paid child admission, one parent is admitted free.

Father's Day Lunch and Outdoor Activities

Sunday, June 17, from noon-3 p.m., at Baker Near-Wilderness Settlement, Medina. Treat Dad to a special lunch of brats and burgers on the grill at the log cabin lodge of the Baker Near-Wilderness Settlement. After lunch, enjoy time with Dad in the outdoors doing activities such as rock climbing, archery, nature programs, and more. Lunch is served at noon. The naturalist-led activity time period will be from 1-3 p.m.; families may choose two of the activities. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-17.
