Shakopee hosted its annual Happy Birthday America Parade at Lions Park Friday morning with more than 150 participants, from infants to to 8-and-9-year-olds to adults decked out in red, white and blue.
The parade, led by a Shakopee Fire Department ladder truck, started and ended in Lions Park. After the parade, children's entertainer – Wendy’s Wiggle, Jiggle, and Jam – performed, while kids enjoyed bomb pops in the humid weather.
Shakopee Recreation Supervisor Sherry Dvorak said the parade has taken place annually for more than 30 years.
