Scott County Moves Shutterfly Closer to Shakopee Expansion
Shutterfly would create 329 jobs in Shakopee over the next two to five years.

The Scott County Board approved incentives for Shutterfly on Tuesday, the Star Tribune reported. Shutterfly has plans to expand to Shakopee with a $60 million facility.
The incentives that the board approved include a nine-year tax abatement of $551,159 to $734,878 and use of the county's fiber infrastructure.
In total the county, city and state have approved $3 million in economic incentives, according to the Star Tribune, and $1.4 million from state loans and grants are still under consideration.
“We are close to the end of the process,” Mayor Brad Tabke told the paper. “This is just extraordinary news for Shakopee, Scott County and the greater [Minneapolis-St. Paul] area.”
Earlier this month, the Shakopee City Council agreed to economic incentives that included a nine-year tax abatement and application for a Minnesota Investment Fund grant of $1 million that the city will grant Shutterfly as a forgivable loan.
