Shakopee Business Cited by MPCA for Stormwater Violations
Wheeler Consolidated/Wheeler Lumber was fined $4,150 for violations in the first quarter of 2013.

A Shakopee business is among more than 50 violations written up by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency since the start of 2013.
Wheeler Consolidated/Wheeler Lumber, which is based in Shakopee, was cited for a stormwater violation earlier this year. The company faces a fine of $4,150 from the MPCA.
Penalties collected by the MPCA throughout the first quarter of 2013 total more than $190,000, with 20 percent of those cases for various air quality violations totaling more than $51,000.

The MPCA imposes the monetary penalties as part of its overall enforcement process. Staff members at the MPCA also provide assistance, support and information to help the companies get into compliance with regulations upon request.
