Shakopee Chamber Is Back In Its Newly Remodeled Home

After about a month in a temporary space, the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce is back in business at 1801 East County Road 101.

It took some muscle over the weekend, but the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce is back in business at 1801 East County Road 101.

“We’re just happy to be home,” Chamber President Angie Whitcomb said Monday.

Since mid-November, Chamber staff had been working in a temporary office space near the intersection of Marschall Road and Vierling Drive while the 30-year-old Chamber building underwent repairs and remodeling.

The work, which included putting on a new roof, repairing water damaged ceilings and walls, reconfiguring the lobby, installing new carpet, paint, doors and some new furniture, in addition to making everything compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, is nearly complete. She said it’s being paid for partly in cash and from a rebuilding fund.

Whitcomb said people are welcome to stop by and see the progress this week and she encouraged those who do to bring a new unwrapped toy to benefit the Community Action Partnership of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties (CAP Agency). Toy donations will be accepted until Dec. 16. For more information call the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce at (952) 445-1660.
