Shakopee Fashion Bug to Close

The new parent company of is closing six Minnesota stores, including the one in Shakopee, the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal is reporting.

Ascena Retail Group Inc. completed its aquisition of Charming Shoppes Inc. on Friday and said in a news release they plan to close the 600 remaining Fashion Bug stores by early 2013.

Fashion Bug, located near in Shakopee, sells clothing for women and misses – from jackets and coats, blouses, dresses and skirts to intimates, shoes, shorts, pants and jeans and swimwear. Fashion Bug also sells purses, clutches, wallets, cosmetics and other accessories.

It's the second Shakopee women's retailer with news of closing or selling in the past month. .
