Shakopee Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct of Two Teenage Girls

A Shakopee man preparing for an overseas deployment was arrested last week on allegations that he sexually abused two girls in Scott County, the Shakopee Valley News reports. 

Raul Rubio Mascorro, 35, has been charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct and is currently in a military jail in Indiana, according to ThisWeek Newspapers. He was preparing to deploy to Afghanistan, ThisWeek said.

A 15-year-old girl reported multiple incidents as did a 13-year-old girl and both said the abuse occurred over at least two years, the ThisWeek report stated.

Mascorro has worked as a jailer for Dakota County for several years and won an award in 2008 for innovation in his work as a correctional deputy, according to a department newsletter. During the first week of November, the department newsletter reported that Mascorro had his name etched on a Wall of Fame for performance in various physical fitness tests.

Mascorro has been previously convicted for speeding, and window tint, in 2003 and 2005, respectively, according to Minnesota court records.
