Updated: Shakopee Man Injured in Boat Crash on Lake Vermilion
The crash happened on Lake Vermilion near Cook.

A Shakopee man was airlifted after suffering injuries in a boat crash on Lake Vermilion Wednesday.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said it responded to the accident around 2:15 a.m.
Michael Strunk of Shakopee, 53, unexpectedly crashed his boat into shore on the north end of Wolf Bay near Cook, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. Dark conditions at that time could have contributed to the crash.

Strunk sustained moderate, non-life threatening injuries and was transported by helicopter to a Duluth hospital.
There were no passengers in the boat.
