Shakopee Mayor Offers Social Media Savvy to Candidates/Elected Officials
Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke announced Monday he will offer a social media Webinar series, for a fee.

Since he was elected to office in November, Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke said in a blog post today his use of social media during his campaign and since then has gotten him calls at least a couple times a week from candidates and elected officials wanting to know more.
Unfortunately, Tabke said, he doesn't have time to spend an hour on the phone with everyone, so he has put together a series of webinars to help people in public service – and those running for public office – better understand and get started with social media.Â
"I am by no means an expert, I just know what we did that was successful and wasn’t successful and want to help get more elected officials using social media tools," Tabke said.

To cover his time and cost, Tabke is charging $45 for the three-part series of webinars, including Social Media 101, 201 and 301. There are two weeks between each for participants to experiment and learn from each webinar, before moving on to the next level. In addition to the hourlong webinar, those participating will receive a comprehensive guide containing detailed processes for setting up, using and growing a social media presence.
