Plunge into Summer at the Shakopee Pool Starting Today

SandVenture Aquatic Park in Shakopee opens for the season at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9. The water park, at 1101 Adams Street, features a sand bottom, chlorinated pool that is surrounded by a sand beach and play area. There are three slides (a 300-foot waterslide and two, 12-foot drop slides) and a diving board.

SandVenture will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 9 to Aug. 19, with special hours on July 4 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Aug. 5 (3 to 8 p.m.). From Aug. 20-26, SandVenture will be open from 1 to 7 p.m.

Daily admission ranges from $5 to $7 depending on height or age (children 1 and younger – free). There is a $2 discount after 5 p.m.

Aquatic Punch Cards and Season Passes are available. members with a Family Membership receive 25 percent off Season Passes.

Throughout the summer, enjoy special events at SandVenture, including Family Day on June 17, the Summer Splash Bash on July 14, Half Way Half Pay day on July 18, the Derby Days Splashtacular on Aug. 3 and the Goldfish Hunt on Aug. 19.

Splish and Splash Tot Times, as well as swimming, snorkeling and scuba lessons are offered (see Parks & Recreation Summer brochure for more information).

SandVenture may close or open late if the weather is cold or rainy. It also may close if the total number of visitors is fewer than 15 at 5 p.m. Please call the pool information line at (952) 233-3840 for daily updates.
