Volunteers Sought for 25th Annual Shakopee Derby Days

Volunteers are needed to chair or coordinate the soapbox derby, logistics, fundraising and publicity, among other things.

The Shakopee Derby Days Committee is seeking volunteers to chair or coordinate certain aspects of the Shakopee Derby Days festival, as well as serve on committees.

They are specifically looking for someone to chair the soapbox derby downhill racing event and for people to help with logistics, fundraising and publicity. But, if you have general event ideas and/or have talents/skills you'd be willing to share, the committee wants to hear from you. Click here for more information.

The next Shakopee Derby Days meeting will be the annual membership meeting, held Thursday, Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the . New members are welcome.

Shakopee Derby Days is Shakopee's annual community festival, organized and run by an independent all-volunteer non-profit organization. Shakopee Derby Days celebrates its 25th year in 2012, with the festival scheduled for Aug. 1-5.
