What's Open and Closed on Labor Day in Shakopee?

There is plenty to do in Shakopee over Labor Day weekend.

While government offices will close for Labor Day, many Shakopee businesses and entertainment venues will remain open.

Government: Shakopee city offices and the community center will be closed. The post office, library and most banks are also closed.

Dick's Sanitation: Recycling and trash pick-up will be delayed one day during the week of Sept. 2.

BlueXpress Bus Service: Closed on Labor Day. Normal days of operation are Monday through Friday.

Open


The Landing will have tours, games and an 1860s "baseball" match. The park will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Canterbury Park has a big Labor Day weekend planned. It includes a wine tasting event, the Minnesota Festival of Champions and "Wiener Dog Wars."


Valleyfair will also be open. Discount tickets are available for every donation of $5 or two or more perishable items to Second Harvest Heartland, a hunger-relief organization. The weekend also features the 37th annual Green Giant Corn Feast from Aug. 31 through Sept. 2. Enjoy a last day of fireworks on Sept. 1.

Cub Foods: Open regular hours - 24/7

Target: Open regular hours. Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Monday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Walmart: Open regular hours - 24/7
