'Breach of Trust': Walz, Flanagan Call For Hutchinson To Resign
After new information was released about Hennepin County Sheriff David Hutchinson's DWI crash, both Walz and Flanagan say he should resign.

HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN — Following the release of new information about Hennepin County Sheriff David Hutchinson's DWI crash Dec. 8 near Alexandria, both Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan have called for his resignation.
The two state officials are seen speaking at a press event Thursday in this video from FOX 9 news.
Walz and Flanagan both said they were grateful nobody was killed in the crash, but that they think Hutchinson needs to resign.

"I would say that it is time for him to resign," she said in the video.
Newly released data shows that Hutchinson was driving over 125 mph just before he crashed, but didn't have his license revoked like a common driver would. He was never charged with driving at an "extreme" speed because Douglas County Attorney Chad Larson said he "didn't know" how fast Hutchinson was driving when he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DWI charge, Fox 9 reported.

Hutchinson was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $610 in fees and fines. Douglas County prosecutors agreed to a continuance on the misdemeanor charge against him of carrying a pistol while under the influence.
