Car Burns Overnight At 32nd and Nicollet

A roundup of this week's traffic, curfew, and narcotics violations in Southwest Minneapolis.

June 6

Officers residents for indecent exposure when they came  across the pair swimming in Lake Harriet after midnight while on routine patrol around the lake.

The Minneapolis Fire Department informed the Minneapolis Police Department of an accidental fire in a motor vehicle between midnight and 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of Nicollet Avenue and 32nd Street West.

Officers cited a motorist for driving without a current license after stopping them for a broken taillight on the 100 block of 36th Street West.

June 5

Officers cited a 13-year old and a 16-year old for being out passed curfew at Thomas Beach at 11:00 p.m.

Five minors were cited for being out passed curfew shortly before midnight near the Lake Harriet Bandshell, including one 17-year old who was cited for consuming alcohol while underage.

Police cited a driver on West 59th Street for driving after their license had been suspended.

 

June 4

Officers cited two 15-year olds for being out past curfew at the intersection of 54th Street West and Freemont Avenue South. Both were reseased to their parents at the scene.

 

June 3

A 23-year old and a 19-year old were booked into the Hennepin County Jail on charges of carrying a weapon without a permit at Lake Calhoun’s Thomas Beach around 1:00 a.m.

Police were flagged down around 2:15 p.m. by a six-year old boy on the 4100 block of Nicollet Avenue for a non-vehicular accident. The boy’s parent was on the scene and refused medical attention for their child

Around 9:00 p.m., officers on patrol near Thomas Beach on Lake Calhoun noticed a car playing music very audible from “more than 100 feet away.” Officers said they had to ask the car’s driver to turn off her stereo in order to hear her responses to their questions. The driver and her passenger were cited for noise violations and for  bringing alcohol into a park

A Farmington woman was assaulted by a Richfield woman on the 600 block of 32nd Street West. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.
