Correa Addresses Media After 6 Year, $200M Deal With Twins: Watch Live
All-Star Carlos Correa is back with the Minnesota Twins after agreeing to a six-year, $200 million deal with the club.

MINNEAPOLIS — After deals with two different major market franchises fell through, All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa has passed his physical and is officially re-signed with the Minnesota Twins.
Unlike his 2022 deal with Minnesota, Correa is set to be with the team for the long haul. Correa is guaranteed to be with the Twins for six years and will earn at least $200 million over that time period, according to the club.

Correa opted out of his three-year, $105.3 million contract with the Twins immediately after the 2022 season, and MLB analysts expected him to sign a longer-term deal elsewhere.
In a bid to get him back, the Twins reportedly offered Correa a 10-year, $285 million offer. But shortly after that, in December, Correa apparently agreed to a 13-year, $350 million contract with the Giants.

However, that deal eventually fell apart after the Giants expressed concern over the condition of Correa’s right ankle. It's not a secret that Correa injured his ankle in 2014 when he was 19-years-old.
After talks with the Giants stalled, Correa's agent — Scott Boras — reopened negotiations with other teams. The New York Mets swooped in and offered Correa a $315 million, 12-year contract. But 20 days passed and nothing became official, and Correa ultimately signed in with the Twins.
Reports indicate that the Mets were also concerned over Correa's physical.
Since Correa's ankle injury nine years ago, the 28-year-old shortstop has gone on to win Rookie of the Year, a World Series, chosen for two All-Star teams, and other accolades.
