Drunk Driver Smashes Into 3 Cars

A roundup of crimes and other incidents reported to the Minneapolis Police Department on Sept. 17.

A 21-year old Burnsville resident was arrested for drunk driving on the 4500 block of Nicollet Avenue South shortly before 3 a.m. According to a report filed with the Minneapolis Police Department, the man drove into three parked cars. The driver was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.

A resident of the 3700 block of West Calhoun Parkway called police to report his friend’s former fiancé had harassed him with calls and text messages for the last month, and called a colleague of his and began telling the colleague slanderous things about the caller. The woman, the caller said, blamed him for the break-up of her engagement.

A resident of the 3500 block of Dupont Avenue South reported their credit card number had been stolen.

A resident of the 4600 block of Harriet Avenue South reported her car was broken into during the last 24 hours, and all the cash from her wallet—left in her car—had been taken.

A car was reported stolen from the 6000 block of Blaisdell Avenue South.

A driver on the 3700 block of Stevens Avenue South and another on the 5900 block of Penn Avenue South were cited for driving without proof of insurance.

A student was arrested for a narcotics violation at Washburn High School.

A domestic assault was reported on the 100 block of 37th Street West.

Police arrested a juvenile in his residence on the 100 block of East 49th Street on a warrant. A copy of the warrant was left with the boy’s mother.
