Man Shot Dead After Argument In South Minneapolis
Police are investigating after a man was shot on Portland Avenue in South Minneapolis late Wednesday night.

MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a man was shot on Portland Avenue in South Minneapolis late Wednesday night.
At about 11:50 p.m., First Precinct Officers responded to a shooting on the 1500 block of Portland Avenue South.
At the scene, police found an adult man on a sidewalk with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Officers treated the man until they were relieved by EMS. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the injured man died at the scene, authorities said.
Preliminary information indicates that there may have been an argument before the shooting occurred. A possible suspect left the scene on foot, authorities said.

Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led up to the shooting. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name along with the cause and manner of death.
