Minneapolis Wading Pools to Open June 1

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will begin opening 65 wading pools on Saturday, June 1, while others will open June 5.

Pools opening on June 1 will be open through Labor Day, Sept. 2. Others, which are located next to Minneapolis Public School buildings, will open June 5 following the last day of school. Pools near school buildings will close Aug. 25, which is the day before school is back in session. Wading pool styles range from classic circular pools to others with spray features and waterfalls.

Wading pools are open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and are free to use, according to the MPRB. Wading pools have no lifeguards on duty, so parents and children are advised to have fun while keeping safety in mind. For a complete listing of wading pools and locations, visit minneapolisparks.org.
